Back in Bangkok for a day or so. Can't say that I like ths city too much, especially after spend a week on a quiet island. but bangkok has so much going on and is such a bustle. met a retired acupuncturist from australia before we left Ko Chang. he talked about the theory of the 5 elements a little bit, which was very interesting. he said that black is not the opposite of white and that cold is not the opposite of hot. instead these are valus that exist on the same continium. cold is just an abscence of heat and black is abscence of white and vice versa. the two can meet in the middle where warm or grey is a balance. the concept of grey being a balance is interesting as i have been recently rolloing over the notion of grey being a an abscence of colour or a colour of depression.
yesterday was a 10 hr trip to go 320 km. it is not as if the road is windy, mostly a 2 or 3 lane stright flat highway. some where along the way some one got into my bag and stole 5000 Baat, which is about $150, and would hold me about a week. iwas a little miffed because the bags were put in a cargo hold in the backmof the bus so i thought them safe but i was told later that it is pretty comon to have stuff taken from bags on buses. lesson learned.
these fellas i am with, couple english blokes triewd to pay a street vender 100 baat to tazer himself. he sort of did his arm enough to show the current touch his skin and curl up his arm, this apparently was only worth 60 baat. Rory wants to get tazers and see what it feels like and play tazer tag. we'll see.
